Sally Kids

A Fun, Faith-Filled Night Program for Children

Our Program

WHAT IS SALLY KIDS?

Sally Kids is the children and youth ministry of The Salvation Army Salisbury Corps Church, created especially for children ages 6–15.

We want Sally Kids to be a place where children can grow in their faith, build friendships, discover their gifts, learn new things, and have a whole lot of fun along the way!

Sally Kids meets Wednesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Each Wednesday includes Bible teaching, a rotating elective activity, food, fellowship, and plenty of opportunities for children to learn and have fun in a safe, welcoming, Christ-centered environment.

WHAT HAPPENS AT SALLY KIDS?

🍪 WELCOME & SNACK TIME

When children first arrive, we’ll have a simple snack waiting for them—maybe cookies, crackers, or other small snacks and nibbles.

This gives everyone a chance to arrive, get settled, visit with friends, and get ready for the evening.

📖 BIBLE LESSON

The Bible is at the heart of Sally Kids.

Each week, children participate in an interactive Bible lesson designed to help them understand God’s Word and discover how it applies to their everyday lives—at home, at school, with their friends, and in the choices they make.

We may use stories, object lessons, games, questions, technology, and other activities to make learning the Bible meaningful, understandable, and FUN!

ELECTIVE TIME

After our Bible lesson, it’s time for our weekly elective—and the elective changes throughout the month!

🎵 MUSIC

Some weeks we’ll make music! Children may learn songs, sing as a chorus, experience choral music, learn praise and worship songs, explore rhythm or instruments, and discover how music can be used to worship God and encourage others.

🎨 CRAFTS & DIY

Other weeks we’ll get creative! Children will work on crafts and DIY projects where they can build, paint, design, decorate, and use their imagination. Some projects may connect with our Bible lesson or the season, while others are simply something fun they can be proud to take home.

🏃 GAMES

Then there are weeks when it’s time to PLAY! We’ll have group games, relays, team challenges, competitions, and other activities that get everybody moving. Along the way, we’ll learn about teamwork, encouragement, leadership, and good sportsmanship.

🛡️ SALVATION ARMY 101

On another week, we’ll explore a little bit of Salvation Army history and heritage.

Children will learn how The Salvation Army began, why we have some of our traditions, and about some of the people, ideas, and ministries that have helped The Salvation Army serve communities around the world.

They may discover why they see a Red Shield, why we ring bells at Christmas kettles, why brass bands became part of The Salvation Army, how we respond to disasters, and why serving people in need has always been such an important part of our mission.

Most importantly, they’ll learn that behind all of it is a desire to put our Christian faith into action and serve others in the name of Jesus.

🍽️ 7:00 PM — LIGHT SUPPER

After our elective time, we’ll gather together at approximately 7:00 p.m. for a light supper.

It’s a chance for everyone to slow down after the activities, eat together, talk about the evening, and enjoy being part of the Sally Kids family before we head home at 7:30.

❤️ EVERY WEDNESDAY IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT!

That’s part of the fun!

One Wednesday we may be singing.

Another Wednesday we may be building and creating.

Another week we may be running around playing games.

And another week we may be discovering some pretty interesting things about The Salvation Army!

But some things remain the same every Wednesday:

We welcome each other.
We learn from the Bible.
We discover new things.
We make friends.
We eat together.
We laugh together.
And we learn more about God’s love for us.

WHY SALLY KIDS?

Sally Kids is more than a children’s program. It is a place where children are welcomed, encouraged, and reminded that they are loved by God.

Through music, Bible teaching, creative arts, games, and caring leaders, children are given opportunities to grow spiritually, socially, emotionally, and creatively. Our desire is to help every child know that they matter to God and that they have a place at The Salvation Army Salisbury Corps Church.
