Sally Teens is the student ministry of The Salvation Army Salisbury Corps Church designed specifically for middle school and high school students who are looking for a place to belong, grow, learn, and have fun.
Teen years are some of the most important years of life. It is a time when young people begin asking bigger questions, making important decisions, developing leadership skills, and discovering who God created them to be. Sally Teens exists to help students navigate those years with a strong foundation of faith, supportive friendships, and caring adult mentors who are invested in their success.
Whether you are new to church or have been attending for years, Sally Teens is a place where you can grow spiritually, build lasting friendships, develop leadership skills, and discover how God can use your life in extraordinary ways.
When We Meet
Sally Teens meets every other Friday evening throughout the year.
Because many of our students are involved in school activities, athletics, band, and other extracurricular programs, our schedule remains flexible. During football season, some of our gatherings may include attending local high school football games together and supporting our students as they participate in their school communities.
No matter where we meet, our goal remains the same—to help teens connect with God, connect with one another, and have a great time doing it.
What Makes Sally Teens Different?
At Sally Teens, we believe faith should be practical, engaging, and relevant to everyday life. We want students to understand that following Christ is not just something that happens on Sunday—it is a way of life that impacts every decision, relationship, and opportunity they encounter.
Through teaching, discussion, worship, service, leadership development, and fun activities, students are encouraged to discover how their faith connects to real life.
Corps Cadets
Corps Cadets is one of the most unique opportunities available to our teens.
This Salvation Army discipleship and leadership development program is taught throughout the division and completed at the local corps. Through interactive lessons and discussions, students explore topics that matter to today’s generation while developing a deeper understanding of Christian faith, personal discipleship, leadership, and service.
Corps Cadets challenges students to think critically about their beliefs, strengthen their relationship with Christ, and prepare for future leadership opportunities both inside and outside the church.
Creative Arts, Drama, and Dance
Creativity is a powerful way to communicate truth, tell stories, and worship God.
Sally Teens offers opportunities for students to participate in drama, creative arts, presentations, and performance-based ministries. Through these experiences, students learn confidence, teamwork, communication skills, and creative expression while discovering new ways to use their gifts for God’s glory.
Whether on stage, behind the scenes, or helping create special presentations, students are encouraged to explore their talents and develop new skills.
Music and Worship Leadership
Music has always been an important part of The Salvation Army, and Sally Teens provides opportunities for students to become involved in worship and music ministry.
Students interested in singing can participate in praise and worship opportunities while learning what it means to lead others in worship. Those interested in instrumental music can explore opportunities within praise bands, worship teams, and traditional Salvation Army brass music.
Our goal is not simply to create musicians but to develop young worship leaders who understand how their gifts can be used to serve God and encourage others.
Salvation Army 101
What makes The Salvation Army different?
Salvation Army 101 is designed to help students understand the history, mission, ministry, and unique identity of The Salvation Army.
Students learn about our Christian beliefs, our commitment to serving others, our worldwide ministry, and the role The Salvation Army plays in communities around the world. They also discover how churches operate, how ministries are organized, and how leaders are developed within the local church.
As students mature in their faith, they are encouraged to begin thinking about how God may use them as future leaders, teachers, musicians, volunteers, officers, pastors, or servants within His Kingdom.
Leadership Development
At The Salvation Army Salisbury Corps Church, we believe today’s teenagers are tomorrow’s leaders.
Everything we do through Sally Teens is designed to help students grow spiritually, emotionally, socially, and as leaders. We want our teens to develop confidence, integrity, character, responsibility, and a heart for serving others.
Our prayer is that students leave Sally Teens prepared to lead in their schools, communities, churches, workplaces, and wherever God calls them in the future.
